Course History


Originally the course was a 3 to 3.5 mile race began and ended near the Salem Congregational

Church. Since, the course was designated as a USATF Certified Race Course (#CT07028JHP),

the course now starts and finishes near Salem School. It officially measures 5 km in length.

Course Description


The race heads toward Waterford on Rt. 85, mostly down hill, at 3/10ths mile it bears

left onto Music Vale Road and continues initially downhill, then the windy road becomes

mostly up and there are several hills, +/-1.25 miles you take a right on Clark Lane (Water

+ Gatorade station here) which takes you to Rt. 82 where you take a right onto Rt. 82 and

run entirely downhill for +/- 8/10ths, +/- 2.1 miles to Rt. 85, and taking a right onto

Rt. 85 where it is flat for +/- 2/10ths, then mostly up hill for 8/10ths to the finish.
